Court for Concealed Thoughts

A public artwork by Adrian mm Abela

Event: January 4th, 5:00 PM

F'dan il-misraħ wieħed isib ħames pilastri tal-ġebel li jindikaw sit għal ritwal annwali.

Kull pilastru jirrappreżenta forma ta’ mewġa, derivata minn reġistrazzjonijiet tal-ħoss fejn ħames persuni lokali qasmu sigriet personali li xtaqu jfiequ minnu.

Il-pubbliku huwa mistieden jibgħat is-sigrieti tiegħu permezz ta’ dan is-sit.

Kull sena, fl-ewwel Ħadd tas-sena l-ġdida, matul inżul ix-xemx, qarrej jaqra dawn is-sigrieti lejn l-orizzont, sabiex jinħallu fl-arja miftuħa bħala att ta’ fejqan kollettiv.

Permezz ta' dan il-ġest, dak li kien mistur (moħbi) jsir mistura (mediċina) — kelmiet bil-Malti li jaqsmu l-għeruq {M}–S–T–R, kelmiet li jinħolqu minn sors komuni.

Aqsam is-sigriet tiegħek b'mod anonimu hawn taħt u żur il-Misraħ biex tixhed ir-ritwal ta' rilaxx inauggurali fl-4 ta' Jannar 2026.

[ Żid fil-kalendarju ]

Five stone pillars form a circle by the sea. Each pillar takes a waveform shape, derived from recordings by villagers who shared a personal secret they wished to release.

On this website, the public is invited to submit their own secrets. Then on the first Sunday of each year, at sunset, a reader voices these confessions toward the horizon, allowing them to dissolve into the open air as a collective act of healing.

Through this gesture, what was once concealed (Maltese: mistur) becomes medicine (Maltese: mistura). In the Maltese language, meaning emerges through consonantal roots — in this case, both words spring from the roots {M}–S–T–R, where concealment and healing share a common source.

Share your secret anonymously below and visit the Court to witness the inaugural release ritual on Sunday Jan 4th, 2026.
